Lions breath

Lean the upper body forward slightly

Inhale through your nose with your mouth closed.

Open your mouth wide and stick out your tongue as much as you can, curling it down toward your chin.

Exhale forcefully with a "ha" sound, feeling the breath come from deep within and passing across your entire tongue.

Repeat x 5

How This Works

  • Elephant Breath

This breathing practice is a dynamic and invigorating technique to stimulate and energise the body. This technique helps to increases oxygen levels in the bloodstream, temporarily stimulating the sympathetic nervous system, circulating more blood flow, and gently heating the physical body.

  • Lions Breath

Lion’s Breath works by releasing built-up tension through intentional sound, movement, and breath. The strong exhale with the tongue extended and eyes wide open helps relax the jaw, face, and throat and places where stress and unspoken emotion often collect. This physical release signals to the nervous system that it’s safe to let go.

The dramatic expression interrupts overthinking and brings your focus fully into the present moment, creating mental clarity.

Unlike slower calming practices, Lion’s Breath has an energising effect. It increases circulation, boosts oxygen, and leaves you feeling more awake, open, and energetic.
